THREE'S A CROWD

The Hogs are getting more preseason love. Must be a day that ends in Y.

After yesterday's announcement that seven (SEVEN!) members of the Razorback football team were getting shortlisted for major awards and Preseason All-SEC Team spots, we've got three additional players up for some huge honors.

Who are they and what are people saying? Let's get to it...

▶️ Jalen Catalon: The redshirt sophomore is up for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to top defensive back in college football. Catalon was the first SEC freshman since Tennessee’s Eric Berry in 2007 to post at least 86 tackles and three interceptions last season, and we knew he was special from how he put in the work during those first few team practices as a freshman.

▶️ Grant Morgan: Also up for the 2021 Bednarik Award and picked as a Preseason All-SEC selection, Morgan is now on the Butkus Award watch list given to the top linebacker in the country. The redshirt senior posted an SEC-leading 111 total tackles last season, but if there were awards given for pregame speeches he'd win hands down.

▶️ Bumper Pool. Another senior up for the Butkus Award, Pool grabbed All-SEC Second Team recognition last year with 11.2 tackles per game, second-most in the conference. But he comes in first place when it comes to getting Jeopardy! questions asked about him.

Razorback football is back on the field with a home opener against Rice on Saturday, September 4th.
