The best of the best of the best. Three of college football's best are Razorbacks. Grant Morgan, Jalen Catalon, and Treylon Burks were named to preseason watch lists with big implications...
Grant Morgan is on the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which recognizes the most outstanding defensive player in college football, after posting a team-best 111 total tackles, including 7.5 for loss, with 2.0 sacks in 2020. He was tied for best in the country with 12.3 tackles per game.
Jalen Catalon is also on the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award, and it's no surprise why. He earned a spot on the All-SEC First Team and named a Freshman All-American by the FWAA last season after logging 99 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, three interceptions, four pass break-ups, one fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles—all as a redshirt freshman.
Treylon Burks is on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, presented to the most outstanding player in college football. He led the Razorbacks in catches last season, hauling in 51 passes for 820 yards and seven touchdowns, and finished third in the SEC with 91.1 receiving yards per game.
Coach Sam Pittman and several Razorback players are scheduled to speak at SEC Media Days on Thursday. See a full schedule here.
