THE FIRST STEP

Three Razorbacks were invited to the 2021 NFL Combine, but unfortunately it was canceled due to the ongoing pandemic.

The NFL Combine is where late-round steals can outwork and outperform expectations, helping them shoot up a round or two... which is why the Arkansas Pro Day was so important for these prospects.

What's the buzz on these three draft hopefuls going into this weekend?

1️⃣ QB Feleipe Franks: Shortly after the season, the former Razorback quarterback caught the attention of NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper, Jr. and ran a faster 40-yard dash than any quarterback at the 2020 NFL Combine. He also rounds out the top-10 of quarterback prospects on NBC Sports and CBS Sports. He'll likely have his name called late, but he's a bonafide NFL prospect.

2️⃣ DT Jonathan Marshall: He recorded 36 reps of 225 pounds on the bench (!!!) which is... a lot, y'all. Only two players—Netane Muti and Simon Stepaniak—posted more bench press reps during last spring's NFL Combine. Marshall is a second-team All-SEC player and will likely be a sixth or seventh round selection.

3️⃣ RB Rakeem Boyd: Boyd spent his Pro Day showing off his versatility, catching passes out of the backfield and even in the slot receiver position. His 40-yard dash and shuttle times were on par with other late-round running backs, but his size and strength—combined with his ability to be a runner, receiver, or blocker on third downs—helps his draft stock.

The 2021 NFL Draft kicks off tonight with the first round selections starting at 7:00pm CT on NFL Network and ESPN. Find streaming options and other ways to watch here.
