SPOTLIGHT ON THE HOGS
The Head Hogs are coming out this morning. It's the fourth and final day of SEC Media Days—head coach Sam Pittman has arrived alongside linebacker Grant Morgan and offensive tackle Myron Cunningham and we can't wait to hear what they have to say.
It's Day 4, and aside from Coach Pittman we've got two coaches speaking who will be facing the Hogs this season. Here's what you can expect them to focus on... and a couple of things we hope they're asked about.
▶️ Sam Pittman, Arkansas: The better question might be to ask what we don't want Coach Pittman to talk about. After more than seven months without football, we've turned the corner. And anything he wants to tell us, we'll listen. We'll likely hear about players on watch lists for major awards including Treylon Burks, Trelon Smith, Jalen Catalon, Grant Morgan, and others. But quarterback is the most important position in college football, so get ready to hear some updates about KJ Jefferson.
▶️ Bryan Harsin, Auburn: This is one of the more interesting quarterback battles in the SEC. Harsin is the new head coach and he has experience developing quarterbacks like Kellen Moore and Brett Rypien, so hearing where he's leaning will be interesting. The Razorbacks will face the Tigers in the middle of the schedule, so we'll want to know how that position shakes out.
▶️ Eli Drinkwitz, Missouri: This year's Missouri game comes as the season finale and a win is definitely giving the Hogs a better chance at a bowl invite... or be the difference in what bowl they're invited to play. The Tigers are in the same boat as the Hogs—they both have second-year head coaches and they're both in the middle of a rebuild. How does Drinkwitz view his program in 2021? Where are they headed? An inside look at a pivotal opponent this season will be important.
Razorback football is back on the field with a home opener against Rice on Saturday, September 4th.
