SAFETY IN NUMBERS

Great expectations. That's what defensive coordinator Barry Odom has for the Hogs' secondary this season, specifically the safeties.

That's because Jalen Catalon, the standout from the group, has earned preseason All-American honors and a spot on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is given to the best defensive player in college football every year.

But what about the rest of this formidable unit?

The safeties were the star of the show and we've got all the highlights, observations, and videos from Day 12 of fall camp. Let's get to it...

▶️ Leaps And Bounds: The jump that Razorback safety Joe Foucha has made from his last year to this year is undeniable: “Last season I couldn't really lift weights and I felt like that affected me being in the game. But now my bench press went up, my squat went up, so I feel like that helped me on the practice side to be more physical and get ready for the games. I’m at my best that I’ve ever been.”

▶️ Let's Get Physical: If there's one thing defensive coordinator Barry Odom loves, it's physical play—especially out of his secondary: "To me, it was our most physical day of camp so far, and our guys responded. It was a competitive battle. I’m excited to go dig into the video to see. I think I know what I saw on the field."

▶️ Dirty Dozen: Count it! The Minnesota Vikings were in attendance with a representative watching yesterday, bringing the total of NFL teams who have scouted practices to 12.

Arkansas will host another scrimmage on Saturday in the lead up to their season opener against Rice on September 4th at 1:00pm.
