RUN THE NUMBERS
This isn't how it was supposed to end. They scored three touchdowns in Game 1. Kevin Kopps, the ace in the hole (or bullpen) for Dave Van Horn all season long, was taking the mound for his first start of the year.
It was the perfect plan. Until it wasn't.
Last night's loss hurts, but let's not lose sight that what we saw out of the Razorbacks this year doesn't come along very often. Just how good was this team? Let's run the numbers...
5️⃣0️⃣ Wins: This is the first time Arkansas has won 50 games since 1987, when Full House aired its first episode and people were blasting Walk Like An Egyptian by The Bangles.
1️⃣0️⃣9️⃣ Home Runs: The previous best? 98... back in 2018. This team hit that record out of the park.
4️⃣3️⃣3️⃣ RBIs: These high-scoring Hogs loved getting their teammates across home plate, and this year's RBI tally is in the top-10 of this program's history for a single season.
6️⃣5️⃣7️⃣ Strikeouts: Razorback pitchers were on fire this year. Led by Kevin Kopps and his 131 strikeouts in 33 appearances, no Arkansas team has ever left opponents swinging at air more. (They've also never matched the 10.43 strikeouts per game they finished with this year.)
