17 offensive linemen. That's how many the Razorbacks have on scholarship to protect KJ Jefferson and plow the road for running backs.

The return of so many big men and the unit's depth is a welcome sight for Coach Sam Pittman, who has spent the better part of the past three decades coaching offensive linemen. He knows the value of not just a good starting five, but plenty of others fighting it out every day in fall camp—it breeds competition, and allows knowledge to trickle down from upperclassmen to younger players.

The offensive linemen are the star of the show and we've got all the highlights, observations, and videos from Day 10 of fall camp. Let's get to it...

▶️ Plan B... And C: Hogs' offensive line coach Cody Kennedy shares Coach Pittman's desire to have a strong offensive line unit, but that extends to backups and then backups of backups. Kennedy is planning for every contingency because he knows injuries are part of the game and not every school has as many linemen they feel comfortable with as the Razorbacks: "I think you have got to have guys that you trust on that second wave, about eight guys that if something happens—and in a game you can’t control the variables—but if something happens I don’t want my heart rate to go up because somebody’s hurt."

▶️ Competition Breeds Success: The Razorbacks have a number of position battles happening in camp, but none more fierce (and maybe even more important) than Luke Jones and Brady Latham fighting for that starting left guard spot. And according to Kennedy, it's likely to be a battle that runs up to their season opener: "It's going to be down to the wire. I’ll be honest with you, it's not one of those bad down to the wires either. They're scrapping every day. They know what's at stake. It's not a secret in our room that there's a competition there. You know, great, great programs, great teams, that's the cornerstone of it—competition within those position groups.”

Arkansas returns to the practice field this morning in the lead up to their season opener against Rice on Saturday, September 4th at 1:00pm.
