"Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him."

Dwight Eisenhower must have been a Grambling State baseball fan, because in six games they have never beaten Arkansas. They've come close, losing by a single run three times. But in their most recent matchup, the Razorbacks won by two touchdowns 14 runs.

In short, the Tigers aren't looking back at their past failures against the Razorbacks. They're looking ahead, and they're doing a pretty good job in the Southwestern Athletic Conference—they're currently first place in the West.

How can Arkansas prevent tripping themselves up ahead of another SEC series this weekend?

1️⃣ King Of The Mound: Grambling State has the second-most home runs (24) and fourth-highest team batting average (.256). The Tigers can put bat to ball. I know his pitchers are tired from another three-game series played over 48 hours, but Dave Van Horn would be wise to go with a seasoned starter at pitcher, even if it's only for the first couple of innings.

2️⃣ Struck Out: This Grambling State team that goes big on each at bat. They have some of the highest home run totals and batting averages in the SWAC, but they also have the fourth-highest strikeout rate (8.8 per game) in their conference. Again, if the Razorbacks start their game with a regular starter, and use the first few innings to build a lead, they can cruise to a midweek victory.

3️⃣ They Give Up: If Grambling State's hitters have kept them in some games, their pitching has done as much to keep them out. Their team ERA of 8.50 is fifth-worst in the SWAC and they're just one shy of being the worst in the conference with opponents hitting 38 home runs off them.

The Razorback baseball team plays Grambling State tonight at 5:00pm CT. You can watch the game on SEC Network+
