Arkansas baseball already led the nation in homers. They pulled away from the pack in a big way last night.

The unanimously top-ranked Razorbacks smashed eight homers in a 26-1 blowout win against University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, finishing one shy of tying the single-game school record of nine. The output brings the Hogs’ season total to 63, which is nine more than any other team in college baseball this season.

Matt Goodheart, Brady Slavens, Cullen Smith, and Charlie Welch each swatted two dingers in the 26-run onslaught, contributing to the Hogs’ 17 hits on the afternoon. Slavens’ three-run shot in the third tied him with Christian Franklin for the team lead in home runs (9).

But we can't forget the pitching—eight pitchers saw action on the night, combining for zero earned runs, seven hits, and 11 strikeouts. It was just what the doctor ordered before an important SEC matchup this weekend.

Arkansas begins a three-game home stand against Texas A&M at Baum-Walker Stadium on Friday night at 6:30pm CT. You can watch the game on SEC Network+.
