Okay, it's not quite 2,000 miles... but the unanimously voted best team in baseball still made quite the trek to start an important SEC series against South Carolina tonight.

How do the Razorbacks match up against the Gamecocks? Let's find out!

▶️ Lightweight: South Carolina's best hitter ranks 40th in the SEC—Brady Allen is hitting just .309. The Gamecocks have two other players in Josiah Sightler (.304) and Braylen Wimmer (.301) hitting above .300, but this is a team that has the fourth-worst team batting average in the SEC. They do, however, have the league’s leading home run hitter in Wes Clarke who has 15 round trippers.

▶️ Mound Strength: If there's a strength for South Carolina, it's their pitching. Their team ERA is just 3.33, good for second-best in the conference. Dave Van Horn will need to beg, borrow, and steal just about every run his team scores this weekend.

▶️ Strikeout Kings: Gamecock pitchers have been good for 419 strikeouts this season, fourth-best in the SEC. Arkansas has also fanned 322 times at the plate so the Razorbacks will need to be locked in at the plate. The Gamecocks’ home field – Founders Park – is a band box though so the Hogs will be looking to add to their league leading total of 70 homers.

The Razorback baseball team kicks off a three-game SEC series against South Carolina tonight at 6:00pm CT. You can watch the game on the SEC Network.
