CRIMSON DENIED

Two outs. Bottom of the seventh. Two runners on. The Razorback softball team was down 2-0 in the game that would decide the series.Hannah McEwan, who had already walked twice, steps up to the plate against Alabama.

Bogle Park was one big nervous Kermit GIF.

But a ground out to shortstop gave the softball team its first series loss in SEC play this season, as they lost 2-0 on Sunday night, and fell 2-1 in the series.

There were no blowouts this weekend. Each of the three games was decided by four runs or less. And there was some sensational pitching by Autumn Storms, which will give the Razorbacks hope going into the final three weeks of the regular season.

Let's break down just how good Storms was this weekend.

▶️ Two-Thirds Majority. The Razorback softball team needed Storms to have a big arm this weekend and she did—starting two of the team's three games and pitching for a combined 13.2 innings (including a complete game on Saturday) all while giving up just one earned run.

▶️ On Strike. Storms faced 56 batters this weekend, striking out 12 of them.

▶️ Nothing Extra. Of the nine hits that Storms gave up, none of them went for more than a single.

The Razorback softball plays next in a three-game away series against Georgia, starting on Friday night at 5:00pm CT.
