The SEC West belongs to Arkansas. The Razorback baseball team stormed through Ole Miss in Sunday’s series finale, jumping out to an 11-run lead and outlasting the Rebels in an 18-14 win in Oxford.

With the series-clinching victory, the Hogs improve to 26-5 overall on the year, including a 9-3 mark in conference play, and take sole ownership of first place in the division.

Tonight, they start a two-game non-conference series against the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff. It'll be important for the Razorbacks to stay at the top of their game for an important SEC showdown this weekend at home against Texas A&M.

How can Arkansas keep from slipping tonight against UAPB? Let's do a deep dive:

▶️ Stand Your Ground: The Golden Lions pitchers are second in the SWAC in wild pitches (37), walks (170), and team ERA (11.27). Dave Van Horn will likely be preaching patience to Razorback hitters, telling them to stay focused on winning every pitch and every at-bat.

▶️ Keep An Eye Out: UAPB is near the top of the SWAC in one category: stolen bases. Their success rate is 78.7%, which is second in their conference. That's also better than Arkansas is used to—Razorback opponents have just a 66.7% success rate at stolen bases. The infield will need to make sure not to give up any free runners in scoring position.

▶️ Don't Look Past Them: This is a Golden Lions program that is 2-19, has had several series cancelled this season, and hasn't scored a run in a week. The worst thing that Arkansas can do is let their thoughts wander. A loss, or even a close win, would be a huge distraction for a Razorbacks team headed into an important SEC matchup against Texas A&M.

Arkansas baseball hosts University of Arkansas Pine Bluff in a non-conference midweek series at home starting tonight at 6:30pm CT. You can watch the game on SEC Network+.
